The title refers to the text of the graffito pictured, the “flash” of inspiration which a graffito represents, and also the fact that this was one of the very few photos I took with a flash. Again, the inspiration was the torn posters from the Palais Royal show. The photograph also documents several different kinds of tags - freehand, template and sticker tags - to show the innovation and competition to be heard in this art form, which again comes across in the multiple layers of work, competing for who gets to be on top, who gets to claim this space.
