The Tageurs at Work (18/38)

One very rarely ever gets the chance to see graffiti artists at work, so it was very exciting for me to run into this crew at work on the side of the Frigos. In fact, they were mostly none too happy to see me, and certainly not to be photographed - this was one of the very few shots they permitted me to keep. I like the man flipping the peace sign’s pose, with legs crossed in mid-stride, and the sun-spot in the very center of the photograph, which keeps the representation obviously photographic and therefore authentic. Making use of the documentary capacity of the camera, this photo catches some taggers at an uncharacteristically friendly moment, in the hope that the viewer of it will better understand and tolerate graffiti and graffiti artists in future.
