This is my first attempt to imitate the Atget photograph of the storefront window we looked at in class. I catch the reflection of the church in the window, and also the street beyond, which symbolizes Paris as an interior space. The man looking through the glass heightens the sense of interior - he's looking out at the viewer, through the glass, as the viewer is peering in at him through the frame of the photograph. His threatened, questioning expression - probably in reaction to the camera in my hand - also gives a sense to the photo that he is looking out at the viewer from it, as much as the viewer is looking in at him.

Spatial Confusion #1 (6/38)

I catch the reflection of the church in the window, and also the street beyond, which symbolizes Paris as an interior space. The man looking through the glass heightens the sense of interior - he's looking out at the viewer, through the glass, as the viewer is peering in at him through the frame of the photograph.
