I always find European cops very frightening. They’re much more militarized then our cops generally are. I was happy, therefore, to catch this shot of them taking a break and having a coffee before setting off to work. At the same time, they are clearly much more racially homogenous and intimidating than the protesters. The viewer is meant to think about this - cops as people, people as cops.
