Paris Arcades Shots (9/38)

We spent some time first week discussing the Paris arcades and reading Benjamin’s writings about them, so of course I made a little pilgrimage with my camera to see them for myself. What really struck me about them, though, was how empty and sad they are, now that it’s been more than 100 years since they were built. I tried to express a few different aspects of this feeling in the photographs I made there, a few of which I think turned out reasonably close to how I intended.
